The band had played several successful concerts since 1980, throughout Europe and Japan for audiences of clubs and major festivals such as WOMAD (UK), Dranouter (Belgium), Festival Cantigas Do Maio (Seixal, Portugal), Severn Revels (Forest of Dean, UK), Festival Mare de Agosto (Santa Maria, Azores), Music in the Castles Festival (Liguria, Italy), Donaufest (Vienna).
The summer of 1997 VASTÁNC (Vasmalom Dance Project) came into being, a spectacular show with musicians, dancers and stilt walkers presenting the special atmosphere of the traditional culture of folk music, folk dance and traditional popular comedy in Hungary.
In 1995, the year of the 50th anniversary of the famous Hungarian composer Béla Bartók’s death the band - inspired by his works - composed new music pieces. The same year they had a series of concerts in England for classical audience, playing these pieces and traditional music collected by Béla Bartók. One of these successful concerts happened with the Lindsay String Quartet from England.
